Teaching Cleveland is an organization which promotes a love of place by working with educators, students, and organizations to help local residents understand the city’s unique past and present. Here is some of what they had to share about their favorite hidden gem in Cleveland:

“Between 1870 and 1930, Cleveland was the fastest growing city in the US. It drew hundreds of thousands of European immigrants and Black families from the American south to work in its manufacturing plants. The Cleveland Cultural Gardens capture the diverse, thriving, and creative community shaped by these groups in one of the most unique parks in the country. It features 36 dedicated gardens designed and cultivated by distinct cultural or nationality groups that adorn MLK Boulevard and East Boulevard near University Circle, the cultural center of Cleveland. The park is a testament to the people who came to Cleveland from all over the world–and who continue to flock to the region.”
